Ancient Magicks (also known as Ancients) are a branch of Magic unlocked upon completion of the quest Desert Treasure, It is the Spellbook used and later forgotten by the armies of during the fall of Zaros during the God Wars. The Ancient Magicks is significantly combat-oriented, including some of the most powerful combat spells in the game. The spellbook contains 24 spells, 16 combat spells and 8 teleports (far fewer spells than the Standard Spellbook). Many of the Ancient Magick spells are very rune-intensive and require expensive runes such as death and blood. Owing to their power is very reserved,(a minimum of 50 Magic is needed to even access the spellbook), Its spells are popular in player-versus-player activities.

The rush and blitz spells are only cast on one target, while the burst and the barrage spells are cast on all the targets on a 3x3 range around the chosen target if the combat takes place in a multiway combat area. If it doesn't, then the spells will only hit the chosen target.

Also, each "element" of the spells gives a certain bonus when cast. The smoke spells poison the target. The starting damage is determined by the "tier" of the spell. The Shadow spells temporary lower the target's attack level. The Blood spells heal the caster for a part of the dealt damage. This is also referred to as "lifesteal" in other videogames. Finally, the Ice spells, the most commonly used PKing spells are preventing the target from moving for a certain amount of time, depending on the "tier".

Teleportation SpellsEdit

The Ancient Magicks Spellbook contains 8 teleportation spells, which take the caster to different locations where the fortresses of Zaros used to be located. These were scattered across northern Misthalin and the Wilderness.
