Family gauntlets are a reward for finishing the Family Crest quest. They can be enchanted for the first time free by going to any of the three brothers, and you can only ever have one of these effects at any given time. To change the effect after the first you have to pay the next brother 25,000 coins, and if you loose them you will not have to pay again just talk to that brother for you gauntlets to be returned.
