The iron med helm is the second weakest helmet in 2006scape. The med helm differs from the iron full helm  by its magic defence bonus. The iron med helm's magic defence bonus is lower than the iron full helm. To obtain an iron med helm you can kill monsters, buy one from various players, buy one from Horvik's Armour Shop in Varrock , or smith it. To create an iron med helm, you need 18 Smithing, a hammer, and one iron bar. This will grant you 25 smithing experience.

Iron armor is the only thing stronger than bronze that you can wear at level 1 Defence.
